Cheap alternative for GLCD

Where to get an inexpensive GLCD? Standard 16X2 character LCD sell at Rm25 per pieces but we can get less price than that for GLCD. The answer is using nokia 3310 LCD module. Just now somebody quote me RM14 per piece including the chassis and speaker. The resolution is 84X48 pixel and its more than enough for small project that require simple graphic. I also found a lot of information on the net regarding this lcd. It time to break my 'tabung ayam' again to buy a piece. Check out this link that the 16F876A LC meter using this LCD and also a pic12f675 digital themometer.

Meder Reed relay for LC meter project

Susah juga untuk dapatkan equivalent part untuk dip relay LC meter ni. Setelah berbincang beberapa kali dengan designer LC meter ini maka saya pon cuba cari part yang sama tapi parts tersebut tiada di Malaysia. Kebetulan terjumpa spec yang sama di Farnell iaitu DIP05-1A72-12D part number 1079439 yang berharga RM21.72 sebiji. Untuk mendapatkan parts ini boleh pergi ke Farnell http://my.farnell.com/meder/dip05-1a72-12d/relay-reed-dip-5vdc/dp/1079439 Seperti biasa, saya cuba menghubungi meder untuk request sample. Alhamdulillah, mereka setuju untuk memberi 5 pieces part tersebut. Kepada yang ingin mencuba menghasilkan LC meter homebrew sendiri boleh lawati laman web VK3BHR di http://ironbark.bendigo.latrobe.edu.au/~rice/lc/. Difahamkan kebanyakkan DVM dipasaran yang ada L dan C measurement tidak se'accurate' homebrew ini dan kalau ada mungkin harganya agak keterlaluan :- ). So kiranya alat ini bolehlah nanti membantu untuk project seterusnya. Kepada rakan yang dah buat, jangan lupa untuk infokan hasilnya. selamat mencuba....

Sorry, I can't suggest a relay part number. I don't know what would be locally available to you in 9W2.

Any 5volt relay with a coil resistance of more than 130 ohm and a "normally open" contact should be suitable. It is not a solid state relay. It is just an ordinary electromechanical "relay" (coil, moving armature, one normally open contact).

This is what I waiting for...
